Elliot Funt, Realtor® with Engel & Völkers
Specializing In North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Downtown Vancouver, Howe Sound & Private Islands Since 2016
Elliot Funt, 2026
I was licensed as a Realtor® in 2016, the same time I joined Engel & Völkers. My experience is in knowing where deals get stuck, how to avoid big headaches, and what will get you the best price and terms.
I work across a broad stretch of the Lower Mainland, supporting clients one-on-one as if they were close friends. If you’re looking for an agent outside of these areas, I’m still quite happy to assist you. The following areas are simply where my experience runs deepest.
North Vancouver & West Vancouver
In early 2024 I moved back to the North Shore, specifically Lower Lonsdale. I cannot emphasize how thrilled I am with this decision since moving back over. Nature, few sirens, tons of restaurants, wonderful views, what’s not to love?
I was born and raised in West Vancouver and while more of my sales have historically been in Vancouver proper, both North and West Vancouver are areas I know like the back of my hand. This is also an area where I genuinely want to continue growing my business now that I’m back on the North Shore.
There is also an Engel & Völkers West Vancouver shop in Dundarave to facilitate meetings and my operations in the area.
Downtown Vancouver
Having lived downtown for 11 years in my 20s/30s, I am certainly no stranger to the inner workings of city life and Downtown Vancouver real estate. My primary office is still located in Yaletown and I’m typically in the city several days a week.
Howe Sound (Gambier Island, Keats Island, and Bordering Waterfront)
Boating in Howe Sound is also a passion of mine, so naturally, I also keep a keen eye on listings in this area and love selling on the islands (particularly Gambier and Keats). In 2025, I was even the #1 Realtor for Gambier Island (both in dollars sold and number of sales). This part of my business is mostly seasonal and makes up roughly 1/3 of my yearly sales.
Private Islands/Luxury Waterfront/Rural Acreages
As a bit of an offshoot to selling boat access-only properties in Howe Sound, I also am well versed in the dealings of private islands within BC and luxury waterfront retreats. Particularly, the many small islands within Vancouver Island’s Inside Passage and as far north as the Broughton Archipelago. These are areas that I spend a significant portion of my free time in and around.

What working together looks like
I’m a full-time real estate agent, not just part-timer, which means I’m quick to respond, straightforward, and I stay on top of details. Most of the time I work solo, unless there is a specific reason to partner with a another agent. Unlike many teams of real estate agents who may sell higher volumes of homes, I personally handle every detail of your transaction with the utmost care.
When listing, I don’t do the lazy version of marketing; I put a great deal of care into how your listing is positioned and priced relative to other competing listings on the market. We’ll do it properly: professional photos, floor plans, good video when it actually helps, strong print pieces, frequently staging, and whatever else is needed to make the home stand out. Marketing is never a matter of let’s throw it on MLS and hope for the best. I’d rather spend the time once than chase the market later.
On the buy side, I’m careful with your position. I’ll negotiate hard, but I’m not interested in pushing you into sketchy shortcuts or “creative” ideas that come back to bite you. I’ll always tell you if I don’t think you should buy a place, and if I do think it’s a great fit but it comes with some drawbacks, I’ll tell you that too.
And if you need help outside the transaction such as inspectors, contractors, stagers, cleaners, lawyers, mortgage brokers, I’ve got a network I trust, and I’m happy to connect you.
Education & sales background
I graduated from Simon Fraser University in Business Administration in 2011. My B.B.A speciality was Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management. During my schooling, I learned skills in innovative marketing and selling in a professional and personable manner. I finished at the top of my Entrepreneurship classes. While in university, I also learned that I have a flexible nature, which helps me find creative ways of problem-solving, marketing, and selling.
Elliot Funt working at Engel & Völkers Vancouver
My early sales experience comes from my three years selling for Mazda (at OpenRoad Mazda in Port Moody, then Morrey Mazda in North Vancouver). My automotive experience provided me with excellent negotiation abilities and people skills; and furthered my interest in helping friendly, everyday people, complete their largest transactions.
From 2011 to 2016, I also worked independently as a writing consultant. My company offered business plan writing and strategy to small businesses. I was able to learn a great deal about how to properly market and run a business from the clients I had, and the plans I wrote.
